Actually, this story also broke earlier this week on datalounge--it was the guys there who alerted Joe.My.God where it really took off. So cutlass I think you'll have to share the credit.

There are a few inaccuracies in, or possible msiconceptions that might arise from, his salon.com piece that should be mentioned:

*Sanchez/Majors keeps referring to himself as "an Ivy Leaguer," and while that is technically true he is not an actual undergraduate at Columbia College--he is enrolled in the Columbia University School of General Studies. There is a difference

*He implies in his article on salon that he was in porn for only a very brief time--yet he was making films that were released between 1993 and 1999 where he clearly aged quite a bit. So his suggestion that he was somehow inveigled into doing porn for one summer by liberals (!!!) is inaccurate.

*There is almost no proof he was called a "baby-killer" (!!!) by a Columbia student because of his military past--his only other proof of this is one of his Marine buddies whom he claims to back him up

*On datakloungem, they've been doing research that he truly wrote an editorial for the Comubia Daily Spectator about his verbal assault by another Columbia student for being in the Marines--so far no one has been able to find it on the Columbia Daily Spectator archives (though it may be there and people just haven't done a good job of searching for it yet).

*His claim to Joe.My.God that he in "not good at being a gay" belies the fact that many men in NYC have claimed on datalounge and elsewhere to have dated him, including Andy Towle of towleroad.com

Well, I have no interest in defending Sanchez/Majors, but people are notoriously bad at evaluating themselves in regard to sexual behavior. Remember Clinton "I did not have sex with that woman....(well, at least as long as you define sex as penile penetration of a vagina, that is)." Maybe to Sanchez, being "good" at being gay means settling down with one lover in the suburb, with a dog, some cats, and maybe a Chinese adopted daughter. Therefore, being good as sucking cock, fucking asses, and having sex with numerous guys on numerous occasions doesn't count as "being good" in his mind.

Not that it matters Buddyboy, but look at the date of my first post on Rod Majors Being the Columbia student: it was back in December!

I just tuned in to all this, and I must say it's fascinating.
I wonder what happened to Matt Sanchez between his porn career and his conversion to right wing propagandist? Clearly he went into the military, but there hasn't been much explanation of what went on in between. He seems to be claiming to be an "ex-gay" although he hasn't elaborated. Nor is it clear if the "wife" and "fiance"s he mentions in response to the blogger's questions are current or past.
(And by the way, if he really speaks French as he claimed on the Bjorn site, I would think he would be aware that "fiance" is masculine, "fiancee" is a woman. But that may have been the poster's error)
Basically, it seems that he is a publicity seeker who is enjoying the notoriety. I think we've got a long way to go before getting the real story -- if we ever do. Cutlass seems to have more than anyone so far. Good work.

Something else I thought about: could this also be a ploy for him to get out of the military? After all, he had a lengthy article prepared for release the NEXT day after his exposure. He admitted to it right away. He could have always said "It's not me." The escorting page had his head cut off. He didn't have to admit to it. And he sought all of this publicity (and continues to seek interviews even NOW!). It's one way to avoid having to go to Iraq. What do you thnink?

As with most of these administration chickenhawks, Ms Matt hasn't been anywhere near a war zone (unless we count Times Square, I guess). Why do I think, that if he had been in Iraq or Afghanistan, he wouldn't be pro Bush/war/Cuntler & her crew. He'd know reality from propaganda.
