I love the heck out of the Bee Gees and Rod Stewart,BEFORE THE DISCO MOVEMENT...I just got CD's I ordered,The late 60's and early 70's from both...Maggie Mae,Reason To Believe,To Love Somebody,Massachucetts(Damn, that is a hard state to spell),Words, I Started A Joke...Seems that they tried to be cute and pretty after that, lost the soul sounds...

Rod Stewart I can take or leave and the BeeGees were never "real" disco as far as I was concerned but Jive Talking and You Should Be Dancing are great tracks and SNF has stood the test of time to become something fairly iconic. My sister (7 yrs. older) was a BeeGee fan in the period you mention and I still have her "I'm A BeeGeeBopper" badge to prove it! There were some great songs and I remember I Just Gotta Get A Message To You as one of the songs that, as a pre-teen, crystallised my absolute horror of the death penalty forever. I also remember crying to New York Mining Disaster. I empathise easily!

I like all of the BeeGee's music up to SNF.I remember trying to sing the lead when ever one of their songs came on the radio,But I just couldn't get my voice to go that high.As for Rod like beekayI can take him or leave him.
