The uber-hot hunky Michael Verdugo (aka "Mikey V"), a contestant on this season's HGTV "Design Star" looked very familiar to me, but I just could not place him. I assumed that he was just your typical young, ripped hetro cop who just happened to have a side business in home staging. Then a few storys leaked.. First, it surfaced that he was a "gay cop" - due to a well-publicised discrimination suite against the Hollywood Police Department. Later, I finally made the connection: he bears an EXACT resemblence to "Jeremy Wess", the very hot bondage bottom of the famed film "Rope Rituals" by Tom Ropes McGurk. See what you think:

Look at the tattoos on his arms currently. You can distinguish the exact design of the tattoos on his arms at the time even if it is very different now. It IS him !

Good eyes!! It IS him. I did a bit more poking around the web and came up with THIS pic (notice the EXACT same elaborate tatoo on his upper right shoulder).

Good work guys!! His nose, facial structure and body are all so distinctive, I was about 99.99% positive about the connection before - but now it is definite..

I noticed the same thing when I watched the show. I always thought he used his police department to try to land a spot on the show. He used the uniform and patrol car and even was in tactical gear for his audition. He remodeled kitchens but is not a real designer. He has no design education or college. I always thought he was put on the show for his good looks and being a cop. There are hundreds of newspaper articles that mention his profession and being a design star candidate instead of talking about his design work like the other candidates. In short, I feel he got a big bounce from being a cop.
This scandal is going to rock that department so I hope and expect him to win. The sad part is that this story hurts gays in police work. Everyday gay cops must fight stereotypes that gays are not all porno stars and sex freaks. It is a story like this that hurts gay cops.
Maybe if he does not win, he can go work at Falcon :)
