Bob Livingston was an incredible fool to run for Speaker without disclosing this information. Fair or not, in the current political environment, marital fidelity of anyone in the front lines in the impeachment affair is going to be an issue.

Having said that, Livingston has not committed perjury, he did not deny this in public for seven months, he did not abuse the judicial system by throwing up all kinds of stupid legal arguments to hide the truth. His case is not relevant to the Clinton perjury issue, but, sadly, it will be made so by the Clinton crowd.

And of course all the liberals who whined all year long about how a person's sex life is their own business, privacy, it's no big deal, etc., etc. will suddenly have no problem dropping that stance.

As is usual, both parties and their lackies will defend to the death illegal and immoral behavior among their own, and attack the opposing party for the same behavior.

So, just be aware Jerry that both parties have the same rocks and the same glass houses.

I'll admit I cannot stand Clinton, but Livingston has got to be right in his league with the "ME before the country" attitude. What a goddamn moron. And I remember when he addressed our class in JR HIGH when he was first running for congress from my district in Louisiana.
They are THIS CLOSE to impeachment and that imbecile has probably ruined the deal. Who needs "wag the dog" and Iraq bombings with morons like him and his conviniently hidden 30(?) affairs. What hypocrisy. Of course if he had disqualified himself from the speaker post for the same moral weaknesses he accuses Clinton of, he wouldn't be 'famous'and have his mug in the magazines. They both lied to the public in their own ways. And he gets a standing ovation after addressing the Republicans this evening? No wonder Livingston didn't want to lead the impeachment argument and gave the post to some unknown. I don't buy that Clinton's deception is any different from Livingston's, they both set out to decieve. Leave it to the Republicans to once again self destruct.

Well Penn Bear what I mean about glass houses is this:When you accuse someone of something its best not to be guilty of the same thing! Also aren't marriage vows an oath and an oath taken in the presence of God and the entire wedding party! I am not sure about the no# of affairs the new speaker has confessed to but he seems to be able to compete with my boy Bubba. I was in the bathouse recently and talking to an older man(huge dick, nice body, married to a woman), and he went on and on about what a lying sleazebag Clinton was. I reminded him that he was in a Gay bathouse, cheating on his wife. This would have been none of my business if he hadn't been downgrading the president. He stomped away miffed and I didn't get the dick. I have got to remember to talk politics AFTER sex.

That would make things interesting, Peter, wouldn't it? hehehehehe Maybe it'll happen.

Does anyone happen to know the rules regarding the impeachment vote? In particular, how many votes are required? 50%? 2/3?

Webmaster:
Impeachment requires 218 votes (1 more than half). Conviction in the Senate requires 67 of 100 votes. It's very unlikely 12 Democratic senators will cross over and vote for conviction.

Personal lives only matter when you run as a conservative Republican, trot out your wife and pretend to be John and Jane Happymarriage.

What exactly does being a conservative Republican mean? When Livingston told the Republican caucus about his repeated affairs, they gave him a standing ovation. A standing ovation for a serial adulterer? What happened to traditional family values?

It is funny how Livingston lied to his own party when he told them he had had several extra marital affairs. Saying that "he wanted to be up front and honest" with them. He KNEW he was about to be "OUTED" by a newspaper in Washington DC and in Hustler magazine.

Livingston lies on his first day on the job to his on party and then gets an standing ovation. 'Lets see, we have a an adulterer heading a party - heading an investigation by another 'youthful indiscretioned' Henry Hyde at the age of 42. Dan Burton of Indiana 'fathering a child out of wedlock' slinging the mud. And this is the party the is supposed to represent 'family values' and deliver christian morality into our living rooms...

What goes around comes around...can't wait till it gets to the senate and then a trial.
Watch Ken Starr/Linda Tripp get cross examined for days...

I wonder if the sponsors are getting in line for the networks and how much the bidding is going to cost for a 30 second commercial...
